Tax-Aid is an established nonprofit with over three decades of experience supporting the San Francisco Bay Area by providing COMPLETELY free tax services. Each year, we assist thousands of people with low income.

Tax-Aid is only able to achieve our mission through the incredible efforts of our dedicated volunteers. Whether you’re preparing taxes, greeting clients or helping provide translation services you’ll help people in your community. And have a little fun while you’re at it.

Step 1 We recommend you watch the Welcome Video below.
Step 2 
Choose either the “I’m a new volunteer” or “I’m an experienced volunteer option below. New volunteers will need to register. If you have ever volunteered with Tax-Aid, even if it was years ago, please use the I’m an  experienced volunteer” door.
Step 3

You will receive an email link to your personal volunteer dashboard. Sign up for a volunteer shift on the job calendar tab from your personal volunteer dashboard. We have many volunteer opportunities. You can train to be a greeter, conduct client interviews, provide translation services for clients, prepare or review tax returns.

Step 4

After you sign up for a volunteer shift, you will receive an email with recommended training videos and further instructions specific to your volunteer role and shift.
